Gardening & Canning

As you can see the garden has really grown from the pictures at the bottom, we have cantelope coming on, they kindof look like watermelons but they have the ruff feeling of the cantelope.
I have been putting away squash and have a lot more coming on as you can see. Made some squash relish want to make some more. Made sour relish. May make some sweet next time. I am going to pickle some squash why not shouldn't taste any different than cucumbers that way. So I'm going to try some small ones and see how good they are. U can do okra that way so I'm doing squash. Well will let u know how well they turn out. Any way as u can see will be getting some Tomatoes soon to. Larry loves them so he is going to eat healthy on the truck. Going to make some tomatoe juce, stewed tomatoes, salsa, perserves and which ever else I can make. Will be busy. Hope the girls come when I'm doing some of this will let them see how to do the old fashtioned things. Hope fully they will enjoy doing some of those things. Well thats the garden and what I'm doing to keep busy around the house besides cleaning, repairing things, washing and ironing.

Trip to Kyle

Now after the trip to NM we then had a weekend to spend in Kyle Tx. This was also a very exciting trip. Of course this trip was not as far as the other trip. It didn't take as long to get here. We went to Beka's recital. Which she did a very awesome performance, and I say so did all the other children in the recital. They all did very well. We went up Fri. morning and drove around looking, dad (Larry) needed some new boots so we drove over to San Marcos to find some at the out side stores. Man I'm telling you boots are sure going up on the price. But usually they last for a long time. Better for that price. Any way Beka's rectial was not until Sat evening at 6 so we had time to do things. Plus Debra and Rusty were putting us in a Motel for the night. This was their Mothers Day gift to me. And to say to them we really had a great time and the room was awesome, that room was very nice. Had a king size bed, couch, 2 chairs ice box, microwave. Was very nice. And flat screen TV(Cable) also. The next morning dad and I woke up early go ready to go and we took a tour of Down town Austin, the river and the farm to market. Here are a few pictures of our stay.

Catching Up

Well today is mothers Day Happy Mothers Day to all the Mothers

Last month Dad (Larry) and I made a trip in the truck up to Tanya's house to visit.

Dad had a run to Roswell NM. She lives in Lovington NM. That was a very nice trip and we really enjoyed that visit. But the only thing I had a very bad cold and some sinus trouble. Guess it was also something going around. But guess they ended up with it to. But anyway while we were there I tried to help her do some things in their new home. They live in the partial country. As it would be not so far out of town but not in city limits. Dad helped Cody plant a garden and Cody had barrowed his Mom's tractor which had broke down, so dad gave him some pointers on what he had done a long time ago to do some plowing. He had taken the plow and hooked it up to the pickup. Which to say Cody did the same thing and boy was he having fun. Then he found a pipe are some kind of long iron peace and used it to level the ground again he used his pickup, the boys sure enjoyed that cause dad let them drive the pickup around in circles. We did enjoy that visit. While we were there Linsey came over to visit and we got to see her little boy. He is about 2 wks younger than Greyson, and he is alittle bigger than her. He was premature. But you would never know that cause his mom and dad are sure taking good care of him.

Updates for 2009

Been alot going on since I last updated. Have had a wonderful begining of the year and I know it will get even better. Jan went by very fast and so did Feb March and Now April's almost gone and fixing to go into May. Jan & Feb the Lord blessed us alot, we are focusing on paying off some of these payments we have put on ourselves. It is something how at the time u want something so u go out and say OK lets just make payments and we can pay it out, seems like the payments last longer than the thing u bought. So we are going to do this Dave Ramsey thing and we have started with one and will work down to another until we have deplenished them all. We will do what we can to save money up to buy something else. Unless someone in the family gets this bite that he needs to get it now thing. Not giving any names for that one. Ha Ha, but anyway that is what we are going to set our goals on for this year and the next. But anyway so much for that as if u needed to know that. Here are some pictures of March trip to Tanyas and some of Easter, then of this last trip to Tanya's, didn't take a whole lot of pictures stayed busy trying to help her with some putting up of things and so on. But our trip was really great.
